Introducing a new and emerging practice which joins Agriculture & Aquaculture.
We strive to produce nutrient rich chemical free foods to local communities, while minimizing food miles. We will use this commitment to naturally grow food to promote good health and longevity. We always seek to be as energy efficient as possible to ensure the balance of nature is never compromised.
A system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic animals supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purify the water.
Aquaponics is a budding food production system that utilizes both aquaculture and hydroponics in a symbiotic environment.
A dome is the geometric shape that encloses the largest amount of volume with the least amount of surface area. This generates a greater saving of building material to enclose usable space or work area than any other structure with a different form.
An Aquaponics system is operated mostly by gravity but does rely on the lifting of water from the sump to the fish tank. This is done by an electric water pump. As well, in the winter months the days are shorter and therefore the daylight hours are reduced.
